Lora lives in the Holly Springs area with her husband, Patrick. They enjoy three beautiful girls: Bethany, Tobie, and Kelsey. Lora lives a very simple, but very blessed life. Taking care of her family and their home fill most of her days. Lora homeschools her girls and they attend a couple of co-ops. Her oldest participates in gymnastics and the middle one plays softball. The youngest dances, sings and makes everyone laugh throughout the day with her already very quick wit. The Maidons have chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, and one very large dog. They love their church and its members and have been attending faithfully for thirteen years. Lora loves to bake, read, craft and has recently discovered an interest in writing. She hopes to encourage other women by writing about how the Lord uses lessons from her everyday simple life to strengthen her faith, deepen her love for Him, and to grow as a Christian.
Lauren grew up in East Africa and has since found herself living every state in the southeast U.S. over the last 10 years, landing in North Carolina just over three years ago. Frequent moving has continued to be an experience God has used to shape and grow in her a passion for people from all nations to know Him personally and deeply, to be changed by the gospel and for the Church to walk alongside each other, striving as disciples with one another. Lauren loves spending time with friends enjoying each other’s company and talking of the goodness of our Father. Or on the rare occasion she has some quiet time, give her a challenging book with her dog Denver at her feet, and she’s set. Her favorite things consist of the beach and the mountains in one place, simplicity, hammocking, the sound of a rain forest, marveling at the magnificence of our Creator and good chocolate. All by His grace, she strives to live in the constant tension of the present and the not yet, despite the yearnings of adventure that beckon her heart; to see and love people as Christ sees and loves her, so that somehow, through her those who do not know Him, they will come to know Him and those who do know Him, will know Him deeper – all for His glory!
Erin is a newlywed living in the great state of New York, though a huge chunk of her heart still belongs to the Oak City. She graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010 and is currently a housewife. Erin has a love/hate relationship with running; appreciates a Coke in a styrofoam cup; is a fan of all Jeopardy-worthy history facts; and misses Chick-fil-A in her life something fierce. Her love for the Lord, theology and writing all come together in her contributions to various Christian women’s blog — including this one and her own blog, This Is My Life.
